What are SPF Records?

SPF Records are special records added to your domain name records (DNS). It's a list of all the servers which are allowed to send email from your domain name.

If you have a SPF record, but Agentpoint servers aren't included on it, then it makes it very difficult for your website to send email. Most of your email will still be sent correctly, but since your SPF record does not permit our servers to send email from your domain there's a higher chance it will go to spam.

It's also possible you don't have a SPF record at all. In this case we'll be able to send email from your website well, but you miss out on the benefits of SPF which can help your emails get delivered more reliably.

How do I tell if my SPF is configured correctly?

Send us an email at helpdesk@agentpoint.com.au and we'll be happy to double check your domain records and verify if you need to adjust them or not.

What are Agentpoint's SPF records?

To allow Agentpoint's servers to send email for your domain you need to add this to your existing SPF record:

include:spf.agentpoint.com.au

If you don't already have a SPF record, then a basic example would be to add a new TXT record to your domain name, with this as the contents:

v=spf1 include:spf.agentpoint.com.au ~all

If adding SPF record for the first time, be sure to check with your email provider what their SPF records are so you can also ensure your email provider is allowed to send email from your domain.
